Meta Horizon Worlds | Meta | Technical Artist | 2021

On Meta Horizon Worlds, I worked as a Technical Artist focused on building tools and workflows that helped teams ship faster, especially under the unique constraints of VR performance and a rapidly changing environment.

A big part of my work was creating artist-facing tools that made production smoother and much less painful. One highlight was a robust Animation Exporter that integrated with ShotGrid to keep communication and approvals flowing, automatically updating animation statuses and sending directors playblasts for review. The best compliment: when I returned to Meta years later, the tool was still in active use.

I also built performance-optimized VR workflows and tooling to capture and report performance statistics, helping teams make informed trade-offs between fidelity and frame-time.

Finally, I developed a Figma-to-ReactVR plugin to help UI artists iterate quickly and consistently. Turning design intent into usable UI implementations with less friction between art and engineering.

Key Contributions

  • Built a robust Animation Exporter with ShotGrid integration (status updates + automated playblast delivery).
  • Created tools and workflows for VR performance optimization, including capture/reporting of performance statistics.
  • Developed a Figma → ReactVR plugin to accelerate UI iteration and reduce handoff friction.
